Friday Favorites #19: DIY Picture Frame Lantern

Hello everyone! For this edition of Friday Favorites, I am sharing an inexpensive way to decorate your home with artificial flowers and $1 picture frames.

The idea for today’s blog post came from several photos I viewed on Pinterest where people hot glued cheap picture frames together to make beautiful centerpieces. I immediately drove to my local Dollar Tree and bought four frames to make the DIY lantern you see above.

Follow the instructions below for inspiration.

Supplies:

  • Four 7×11 Picture Frames
  • Artificial Flowers
  • Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
  • Flameless LED Candle

Instructions:

  • Remove the paper and backing from the picture frames.

  • Connect the frames together by hot gluing them into a square shape.

Make sure the glue has dried and set between the frames before moving on to the next section of the lantern.

I could have left the lantern plain, but I saw some flowers in my closet that would look perfect on my craft project. So I used my glue gun to adhere the flowers to the top and base of the lantern.

  • Finally, I placed LED candles inside the lantern. I used flameless candles because I was worried that a lit candle would set the flowers on fire.

And that’s it! I hope you enjoyed photos and tutorial. If you try to do this project, please let me know how it turns out.

Thanks for reading, and have a great day!
