DIY Chalkboard Vase

This chalkboard vase is so easy and fun to make. You can either use it for your home, party decorations, or as a gift for someone special. Check out the tutorial below.
  • Glass Vase
  • Chalkboard Spray Paint
  • Acrylic Paint (multiple colors)
  • Cotton Swabs
  • Flowers
  • Chalk


  • Paint a glass vase with two coats of chalkboard spray paint. Let the painted vase dry for several hours.

  • Apply decorations to the vase with acrylic paints and cotton swabs. Pour multiple colors of acrylic paint on a paper plate, then dip a different cotton swab into each color. Make polka dots on the rim and bottom of the vase with the swabs. Add as many or as little dots as you want.

  • Once the dots dry, put a bouquet of colorful flowers (real or artificial) inside the vase, and write a nice message on it with a piece of chalk.
