Did you know that June is National Candy Month? Yes, some awesome person somewhere designated a month for candy. I love candy and eat it more than I should, so I just had to dedicate this blog post to some of my favorite treats.
~Bow Tie Lollipops
I made some delicious lollipops using candy melts and other products by Wilton. These items were bought on sale at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store:
- candy melts
- lollipop mold
- candy flavoring
The process was easy.
I used two bags of candy melts (green and pink) for this project. I melted each bag of candy melts in the microwave, stirring them at 30 second intervals until they looked like this:
I also mixed in a couple of drops of candy flavoring into the melts. The flavoring isn’t needed because the candy melts are already sweet. I’m a fan of cherries and wanted the lollipops to have a cherry taste.
I then spooned the melts halfway into the molds, added the lollipop sticks, then filled the rest of the molds with the melts.
I put the lollipops into the freezer and let them set for about 10 minutes. Once solid, I removed the lollipops by gently twisting the mold.
How cute are these bow ties? The best part is that they taste good.
True story: I accidentally broke all the pink lollipops I made because I dropped them on the counter after taking them out of the freezer. I was not happy, but it didn’t take long for me to make more lollipops.
~Gummy Bear Popsicles
This is a very simple and delicious recipe that I found on Pinterest. Everyone else used Sprite with the gummy bears, but I didn’t have any Sprite, so I used pink lemonade.
I put the gummy bears inside the molds (I bought this popsicle mold for $1 at Dollar Tree).
Then I poured in the lemonade and added the tops.
I let the popsicles freeze for several hours.
Once I took them out of the freezer, I ran the mold under warm water for a few seconds to loosen the popsicles.
Here’s what they look like:
The popsicles were sweet and tasty and perfect for Summer.
