How to Make a Hula Hoop Centerpiece

If you have followed this blog for any time, you will know that I enjoy reusing and repurposing items for my projects. One thing I like using the most is a hula hoop. You can turn hula hoops into wreaths, rugs, chandeliers, and other creative ideas. I am sharing how I turned a hula hoop into a centerpiece for today’s blog post.

The best thing about the hoops is that you can purchase them at several dollar stores. I love beautiful projects that don’t cost a lot of money.

Continue reading below for the instructions.

Supplies I used:

  • 20 in. hula hoop
  • 12 in. wood slice
  • Jute rope
  • Artificial flowers
  • Glue gun and glue sticks
  • Hammer and nails

Instructions:
1. Wrap and then glue the jute rope around the hoop until completely covered.

2. Arrange the flowers and then adhere them to the hoop.

3. I stood the hoop on top of the wood slice for this next step. I then secured it to the piece by hammering a nail through the bottom of the hula hoop into the wood slice.

4. Finally, add more flowers and embellishments if desired.

And that’s it! This project is fun and simple and perfect for several occasions. Many people I know are hosting events in the upcoming months, and this centerpiece is a unique and creative way for them to decorate tables.

I must admit that I enjoyed making this centerpiece so much that I decided to make another one with different flowers. I love the versatility of this project. I can continue to use the hoop as a base and add other flowers for each new event.
