I started this blog about three years ago, and it is still one of the most fun and interesting tasks I’ve taken on in my life. Each week I get the opportunity to share my creative projects with hundreds of people across the world. It’s amazing to me when I discover that many of my posts are viewed in countries in Asia, South America, Africa, etc.
My goal is to provide easy DIY tutorials for readers to enjoy. To reach this goal, I need to make several projects a week in order to write a consistent amount of posts each month. There are days when I feel so creative and motivated. Then there are other days when my mind goes blank. I can’t think of anything to create because I’m tired from other jobs and responsibilities.
I wanted to use today’s blog post to share with you different methods I use to jolt my creativity when I’m low on inspiration. Continue reading below for some helpful tips and photos that will motivate you to create.
Shopping is extremely fun! I enjoy browsing through craft stores and home decor stores for inspiration. These are the places where I buy most of my supplies and decorations. I also take this time to find out what styles are new and popular within the Craft/DIY community.
Pinterest truly is the “world’s catalog of ideas.” You can find millions of photos and links to the most awesome projects. I sometimes browse Pinterest for hours, and I always end up feeling ready to make something beautiful.
Youtube users upload hundreds and thousands of videos every week. Several of these users post videos showing how to sew, knit, and make decorations for events. It’s possible to learn new skills and techniques by watching a five-minute video.
4. Other People
Talking to other makers and reading their blogs inspire me daily. I love learning how they thrive in this industry.
5. Taking Breaks
I always feel refreshed after I give my mind a rest. Sometimes I have too many projects going on at one time, and I begin to feel overwhelmed. This is the moment that I take a step back and just relax. I may go for a walk, take a nap, meditate, or spend some time with my family and friends. These relaxing moments help to reinvigorate my creativity.
