I bought this bird shaped chalkboard during an after Easter sale at Michaels.
It cost less than a dollar, so of course I couldn’t leave it in the store! The only issue was that I was stuck with this board for months because I didn’t know what to do with it, and no one else in my house wanted to use it. I finally decided to give the chalkboard a makeover to fit my personality.
Check out the steps below.
Supplies:
- Small Chalkboard
- Decoupage Glue
- Lace Ribbon
- Foam Brush
- Decorative Wrapping Paper
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Hot Glue Gun
- Clothespin
Instructions:
- Use a pencil to trace the outline of the board on the wrapping paper.
- Cut the shape out of the paper then decoupage it on the chalkboard with decoupage glue. Let the glue dry about 1-2 hours.
- The final steps of this project involved me adding embellishments to the board. I glued a clothespin to the front of the board as well as a flower and decorative stickers. Then I made a hanger for the board by cutting a piece of lace ribbon and hot gluing it on the back of the board.
I think it turned out beautifully! I plan on adding little notes and photos to my board throughout the week.
