Make Beautiful Teacup Candles

I bought two pretty teacups last year with the sole purpose of transforming them into candles. Unfortunately, I was so afraid that I would burn myself or mess up the candles that I just let the teacups and candle kit sit on a shelf for several months. I finally took the time to make my lovely candles, and I could kick myself for not doing it sooner! It was easier than I thought, and I can’t wait to make more candles so that I can give them away as gifts.

Supplies:

• Teacups
• Candle Wax ( I used soy wax)
• Scent Squares
• Candle Wicks (I used soy wicks)
• Metal Pouring Pot
• Scissors
• Saucepan or Cooking Pot
• Oven Mitts
• Hot Glue Gun

Directions:

• Gather your teacups and candle supplies.
• Pour the candle wax and scent squares into the metal pouring pot.

  

• Place the pouring pot into a cooking pot filled halfway with water. Bring the water to a gentle boil to melt the wax.

 

• Glue the wicks into the center of the teacups with a hot glue gun. Place the teacups on a level work area. Make sure to cover the area in case the wax spills.

• Keep the wicks centered by placing them in between two pencils and clothespins. This helps the wicks not to bend or move once you pour in the hot wax.

• Place the oven mitts on your hands and begin to carefully pour the hot wax into the teacups. Fill the cups to the rim.

• Let the candles cool and set for a couple of hours before moving them. After the wax hardens, you will notice a dip in the center of the candles. Just reheat any leftover wax and pour it into the holes, then let the wax harden again.

• Finally, trim the wick with your scissors. The candles are now ready to use.
