Mod Podge Lamp Shade

This is a very simple craft project that takes very little time to complete. My husband and I had an old lamp in our room that was just sitting on a table collecting dust, so I figured it would be the perfect object to redesign.

I used the following supplies:

  • Krylon Short Cuts Spray (gloss white)
  • Mod Podge (gloss)
  • Mod Podge Podgeable Paper

I cleaned up the lamp post, then I spray painted it while I was outside. The paint dried in about 10-15 minutes.

For the lamp shade, I covered each section with Mod Podge. I cut out pieces of the podgeable paper and very gently glued it on the lamp shade.  Once the papers were in place, I painted over them with another coat of Mod Podge. I let the lamp shade dry for several hours.

I’m pretty satisfied with the results. There are a couple of rough parts on the lamp shade, but I’m happy with how everything turned out. I am looking forward to doing similar projects with other items in my home.
